The grass is long enough that it probably deters the birds. I wouldn't mind trying ohelo - or maybe low chill blueberries, which I hear do well up here. Some kind of fruit in addition to infrequent (but tons when we get them) bananas and lemons would be appreciated.NancyDehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09565369052850975336noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-279838830512754397.post-68685303309851141042011-06-02T04:30:11.056-10:002011-06-02T04:30:11.056-10:00Good on your kids! Or birds, like my blueberries? It might be worth a try to grow those ohelo berries. Who knows, they may grow well for you!Leighhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02435811789823712254noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-279838830512754397.post-58900264275533561922011-06-01T18:05:02.558-10:002011-06-01T18:05:02.558-10:00Probably closer to your little wild ones. I wonder what combination of rain and sun made 1997 the year for blackberries - and no other year so far?

Up in the Volcano they have ohelo berries, which are wonderful, but you need to leave them for the nene geese. I was wondering if I could grow them, though.NancyDehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09565369052850975336noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-279838830512754397.post-68530165706767166432011-06-01T17:15:04.726-10:002011-06-01T17:15:04.726-10:00Are your blackberries the little wild ones or the ...Are your blackberries the little wild ones or the big ones we have growing all over here? The big ones make great jelly, but the seeds are huge. What great kids... Since I'm down to my last teenaged girl I always get nervous when she does stuff like that.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
